My Story
I grew up in the small town of Benicia in the San Francisco Bay Area. I spent most of my time playing sports and lifeguarding at the local pool. After high school, I attended UC Santa Barbara and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. Thereafter I completed the Teacher Education Graduate Program at UCSB where I received my teaching credential and Master’s in Education. I became a teacher because I find it incredibly gratifying to share my knowledge of science and love of learning with young people and to help them succeed. I have been working at CHS since the 2016-2017 school year and I am so proud to be part of the Warrior family! Before coming to CHS I taught for six years in the Ventura Unified School District, teaching Biology at Buena High School and as the K-5 Science Specialist at Will Rogers Elementary, guiding their transition into an Environmental Science Magnet School. In my free time I love going to the beach, cooking a great meal, painting, spending time with my husband, and enjoying life in Santa Barbara.
