My Story
I grew up in the small town of Benicia in the San Francisco Bay Area. I spent most of my time playing sports and lifeguarding at the local pool. After high school, I attended UC Santa Barbara and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. Thereafter I completed the Teacher Education Graduate Program at UCSB where I received my teaching credential and Master’s in Education. I became a teacher because I find it incredibly gratifying to share my knowledge of science and love of learning with young people and to help them succeed. This year will be my second year at Carpinteria High School, and I am so proud to be part of the Warrior family! Before coming to CHS I taught for six years in the Ventura Unified School District, teaching Biology at Buena High School and as the K-5 Science Specialist at Will Rogers Elementary, guiding their transition into an Environmental Science Magnet School. In my free time I love going to the beach, cooking a great meal, painting, spending time with my husband, and enjoying life in Santa Barbara.
