Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the end of the semester is only two weeks away, I am writing to inform you of some very important dates rapidly approaching in your student’s Biology class.
Today, M 1/14: Study Guide Packets were passed out in every class to help students begin studying for the Quarter 2 benchmark and Semester 1 final. Please ask to see this packet so that you are familiar with the nature of these tests and the materials provided to help them be successful. As many of the students are taking a final for the first time, I allow them to create a one-page (front and back) hand-written “cheat sheet” to use during the exam. The guidelines for this cheat sheet are on the study packet.
Friday, 1/18: This is the LAST day students may turn in missing work or extra credit. You can look on Q to see if students have missing work; any assignments without a score are missing and are counted as a zero in their grade. Their final workbook check (#6) is also due on this day.
Monday 1/21: No School in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
Wednesday 1/23 through Friday 1/25: These are the days your students will be on a minimum day finals schedule. They will attend two classes per day and be released from school at 12:25, with NO late start on Friday. Students have been provided with a copy of this schedule as part of their study packet. Friday 1/25 is also the last day of the Quarter and Semester.
As always my goal is to keep parents and guardians involved in the learning process in order to help your student be successful in school. I hope you find this information helpful, and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
